Units: 50 Format: Kit EC™ Milk Glucose/Lactose (CL-10 Plus) Description:Lactose is found naturally in high concentrations in milk (130 mM = 4.5-5 g/100ml). It is essential for many different kinds of fermentation processes, such as lactic fermentation, which is crucial to the production of milk derivatives such as cheese. The analysis of lactose is also important in the production of low-lactose products for consumers suffering from lactose-intolerance. For production of low-lactose products, testing for glucose reveals the degree of lactose digestion. Glucose analysis can also be used to reveal glucose contamination in milk (which should be virtually none (<1%) in an untreated/processed/corrupted sample). The EC™ Milk Glucose/Lactose (CL-10 Plus) method utilises the differential pH technique for the rapid, reliable measurement of lactose and glucose in milk. Features:
